If you could tell by one of the items added onto Shop V27, today’s post is all about skincare and the five steps it takes to create a perfect skincare regimen for you Skincare plays a major role in self-care, when your skin looks fabulous you feel fabulous also! Let’s go ahead and jump on to the five steps it takes to create the perfect skincare regimen.

1.Determine YOUR skin’s issues.
This is a huge one, that is why it is the first step. Now all over social media everyone is recommending a product, it is okay to want it but is it the right one for Y.O.U? Believe it or not, many of us have more than one skin type. For example, I have dry, acne-prone, sensitive skin and finding products that help all three were very difficult for me, even as a licensed esthetician. I ended up going to another licensed esthetician to help me figure this out. I am so grateful that I did, bringing us to step number two.
2. Get a second opinion.
To solve a problem sometimes it is best to get a second opinion, half the time they will catch something you don’t even notice. Maybe you are having issues with breakouts, that could possibly be caused by your skin being so dry leaving it extremely congested and just begging for hydration or if you have more oil in your T-zone you could possibly be using a cleanser that is stripping away too much oil, leaving your skin stressed and causing an overproduction of oil.
I understand the k-beauty 10-step regimen is all the rage, you can get there but trust me you don’t want to overwhelm your skin with a ton of products that may not even work for your skin type. Begin with just a cleanser and a moisturizer, it will be easier to create your skincare regimen based on your needs after your skin gets used to being cleansed twice a day and moisturized. Cleansing is crucial for removing the makeup, dirt, and pollution that has settled into your pores throughout the day and while you are sleeping. While moisturizer locks in the water used to rinse your face, keeping your skin hydrated and clean from your surrounding environment.
4.Deep clean your pores once a week.
Cleansing and moisturizing twice a day everyday is necessary but a deep cleaning once a week is maintenance. Whether it’s steaming your face, masking, or exfoliating you are removing what has gotten extremely comfortable in your pores.
5.Don’t stress about the changes in your skin.
it always gets worse before it gets better. When you start creating your skincare regimen, the skin will begin to purge the bad with each addition of products. It will balance itself out and will begin relying on the products to purge and heal. Your skin will thank you and in return give you the best skin.
It does take time to create a skincare regimen that is perfect for your needs.
My current skincare regimen includes the *SkinCeuticals LHA cleanser gel morning and night, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, and the SkinCeuticals Emollience. My deep cleaning day includes the use of a skin scrubber, followed by exfoliating with rhassoul clay and The Ordinary Niaminicide to prevent future breakouts. To heal and brighten my skin following a breakout I use Captain Blankenship’s Sailor Sea Splash Face cleanser until the skin is repaired.
It has taken over a year to get my skincare regimen to this point. Don’t give up hope on creating your skincare regimen, you will be glowing from the inside out in no time and with that added boost of confidence from clean skin you’ll be feeling fabulous!
